If you really want your hair to be straight all day long you need to
buy a straightening balm like kms and blow dry your hair straight then go over it when it's completely dry with a ceramic flat iron. If you buy a flat iron make sure you don't get a cheap one or your hair will not be 100% straight. I suggest you buy a flat iron from Chi or Solia which run around $80 to $100 at Folica.com
My hair is thick, wavy and frizzy and the only thing that leaves my hair super straight is the Solia flat iron. After I'm done with the flat iron I just spray some shine mist and I'm good to go till the next day when I take a shower.

My hair is also curly and I have to say that I would also like straight hair, but the I will never get it w/ out my hair being over processed. Try some leave in conditioner (Paul Mitchell The Cream). It will smooth out fly aways and crazy frizz. And why would you want get people to like straight hair on you? Do what you want to your hair...It is yours after all. Be yourself.

Follow these instructions and you can keep your straight hair for days: Shampoo and condition your hair with Matrix Sleek Look. Use a little bit Kiehl's straightening/heat protecting lotion or VO5 heat protecting spray and blow dry your hair completely. Section your hair. Then use a ceramic iron like Chi and make it straight.

Curly hair is awesome! Catwalk by TIGI has a line of shampoo, conditioner and styling products called 'Curls Rock' which is phenomenal. As for straightening, buy a 100% cermaic Flat Iron(hair straightener). It will cost you around $100 but they last forever and don't burn your hair. Use a light mist of hairspray after you're through and it should last all day.

I've found that straightening my hair at night then touching it up in the morning helps. I also use TRESemme anti-frizz spray to make it look sleek and calm. (it's also a good idea to use some kind of "heat tamer" to protect your hair before straightening).
