Was taking 120 mg Cymbalta a day for several months with no relief from depression. I was feeling worse on it as it created more issues...upset stomach, sleeping all the time and weight gain. I started to reduce my 120mg of Cymbalta down to 60. I was at 60 in a week and was feeling so miserable, I just quit it all together. Now I am even worse. The headache is unbearable along with the sweats and chills and upset stomach. I have not ate in a week. How long is this goin' go on?

You should talk to your doctor because withdrawl is dangerous and he may have something to help you get through!! I took vicodin for 4 years and tried to stop, and had a lot of the same symptoms you are having, you can have seizures and lose controll of your body temperature. You will probably still be sick for another 4 or 5 days, that gives your brain enough time to revert it's self back to normal.Pills for depression occupy a part of your brain, and your brain won't be able to function normally without the drug in your system, when you take the drug away completely, you get withdrawls but with most meds.for depression it doesn't matter if you wean off or stop cold turkey you still get withdrawls even if you take part of the drug away. You can be sick as long as 3 weeks,I would never take anything for depression, except maybe Valium, doctors love to push the free samples and it makes me mad.Paxil is terrible about having withdrawl also so don't take it as a replacement for a depression medication. Most meds for depression cause withdrawls so be carefull and ask your Dr. next time if the medications you are taking will cause withdrawl symptoms when it's time to stop them. For now all you can do is try to suffer through it,take tylenol and it wil help, eat soup and drink water or sweet tea,it soothes the stomach,or even flat coca cola the sugars in it will help you feel better, because not eating will make your withdrawls worse.

Going of a medication like Cymbalta requires the care of a physician. Get back in touch with your doc asap.

You should NEVER go off Depression meds suddenly.
It can really mess with your mood/emotions. I would call your Dr. ASAP. You could have been reducing your Cymbalta & transistioning to another med or slowly weaning yourself all together.
Please don't mess with that- take care

Does your Doctor know about this? It sounds very serious. Most anti-depressants require a gradual reduction in dosage over several weeks or months. Please be careful and contact your physician.
