...and he does drink much at all. And last night he drank a lot cause people kept buying him shots. Well, today, he wont stop throwing up. The problem is that he says hes going to work! he never missed a day of work in his life. Its a heat wave and he works outside. Since hes throwing up (like every hour on the hour) and weak, what should i say to him so he'll stay home? I know hes a man or whatever, but im a reasonable wife and i dont tell him what to do much, (cause hes a great guy) but for his health, i want to step in.

If he works outside and there is a heat wave going on you definately don't want him outside as he will more than likely pass out from heat exhaustion. A friend of mine just did that the other day and she works outside and she hadn't even been drinking. Her thing was just trying to keep up with the guys plus there was only a little bit to do so she figured she could handle it.

Let your husband know that passing out from heat exhaustion is nothing to sneeze at and that you're just looking after his health and well being. If he persists on going to work in the heat, tell him to wear a hat, drink lots of water and I do mean lots of water, and he needs to be aware of any heat exhaustion symptoms such as dizziness, fatique, etc., and he should take breaks often (preferably in the shade if he can).

The most important thing is drinking tons of water to keep hydrated and to take breaks.

Good luck!

Well you should basically underline your concern for him and tell him what you have just put in your question. Make him aware of the risks if he does go to work, especially dehydration which could cause him to pass out.

Let him do this on his own. Let him pay the consequences.
