Cats are supposed to do that. It's discussed in the links below, which conclude it's mainly as a sign of affection. And they instinctively like it when you rub your face against theirs.

They are showing affection. Mother cats lick their young to clean them. Cat's will clean each other to show affection. Your cat loves you.

Cats don't have hands so thats how they pet eachother. You cat is just petting you back.

they do this because they love you and, and when you pet them after this, it feels to them like you are licking them, even though you don't have sandpaper hands. They will lick your hand after you pet them because they want you to keep petting them.

nasty pervert !!! don't do that to cats jeje my cats used to love it when i rubbed their belly's or scratched their ears. They lick you because they like what your doing.
