I think that many JWs like thinking that they have all of the answers and they are so knowledgeable about the bible that they just have to show all of us 'worldly' people how stupid we are.
They rarely ask questions, because they do not really care what everyone else thinks. For the majority, if they do ask questions on here, it is because they want to spout off about the propoganda they learn at the Kingdom Hall three times a week.
They are not interested in learning about other cultures, and opinions and ways of thinking because their main goal in life is to convert others to becoming JWs, or at least do their preaching duty so they will still be considered an approved associate in the congregation. Like one of the other respondants mentioned, they need to add hours to their monthly preaching time (field service) so that everyone will be impressed by how self-sacrificing they are and they can feel like they've done their good deed for the month.
Thankfully, many others, may actually be looking for the REAL truth, and are afraid to ask questions of the elders and be labeled as doubters or apostates for disagreeing with JW teachings. So, they come on here to find some answers and still remain anonymous.

Yes, Yahoo Answers is the opposite of "healthy association" for any true Christian.
However, some feel that refuting a little of the anti-Witness nonsense here is somewhat like having the hobby of picking up litter alongside the road. There will just as much garbage there tomorrow, the vast majority of passersby won't notice, their hands will get dirty, and it won't take long to end up disgusted with their 'neighbors.'
Still, it's a hobby.

I don't know if you are aware of this but JW's keep track of the time they preach the good word. It's called Field Service and they count the amount of hours they preach each month, whether it's door to door, or home bible studies, even studying with their own children. Yes they count as "time" the time they study with their children.
Going door to door can be a pain and I know when they are here at least some of them are counting this as Field Service and counting the time toward their end of the month totals..
All these totals are sent to the headquarters and added up and kept as records. They say they count time to lift the spirit of its people by seeing the billions of hours written down in a magazine.
Keep in mind it can also be used as a "motivator".
Sorry for the long story, I'm an ex JW

They are on because the can be on and they know that uncounted numbers of people read. What is posted here is probably read and seen by more people than the poster could reach in a life time any other way.

I'm not a JW, but I know plenty! Not one single one lives the 'truth'. They are all hypocrites like most other religions as well. I'm not knocking anyone's belief, just their ability to believe.
But hey, today's Sunday. So they all went to church and had their sins forgiven so they can try again this week. But, alas, by Saturday they will have racked up a whole new bunch of sins for next Sunday.

Anyone can be on here..
What I want to know is why they don't have to follow the same laws as everyone else. When a house has a NO SOLICITAION and a NO TRESPASSING sign on it...why do i still have them knocking on my doors and leavig literature on my doorstep?
