Which airline do you work for?
1/ You can ask for a leave of absence. And then return after the summer.
2/ You can ask for a temp transfer. But that DEPENDS if they have space available or not.

That's what I did :) I used to work for Korean Airline. I married my husband in France and they even offer to transfer me to Paris. However, I didn't take that b/c my husband's moving here.

1) Talk to your manager. He might understand and re-hire you in the fall.
2) Stay in town (don't go home), and ask your manager for full-time hours during the summer (he'll probably say yes).
3) Find out if the airline has many jobs in your hometown and ask for a temporary transfer (which may be troublesome, because you'll have to do it twice).
I would go for number one or number two.
