I think I would be in stitches laughing as my best mate is so not that way, it would be so funny to see her eat her comments. lol
To a more serious note, I am thinking that seen as you have asked this question you are in this situation, I would have to say it would depend on the circumstances, for one is your mum alone or is she with your dad or a partner, in which case this is not good as she is cheating, there is always the age thing, not that this should matter but it sometimes can if there is a great gap. At the end of the day you want your mum to be happy and if she is not cheating then let her be, however if she is cheating then get her to make her choice of what she wants. As for your mate it may be slightly difficult between you for a while but hay if your mates are attracted to your mum then hay you got a hot mumma.

I am answering this as though you are the third person so forgive me for being presumptuos:
You must have felt both humiliated and shocked to have witnessed such a scene, and feel that you have been betrayed.
I am not sure that I have clue how I would react to a similar situation. I think It would depend on my gut reaction on how I dealt with it. However, the best thing for me to do would be to try ignore it and carry on as best I could and if at all possible stay objective to the situation.
No doubt from now on you will look at your Mum in and entirely new light and think of her as a Human being with feelings and not just your Mum. But as to your best friend, I doubt very much given human nature what it is that you will still bestow the title of Best Friend on him for much longer. But try and think 'To err is human but to forgive is divine'. Who knows you might find yourself in a similar situation one day and would ask to be forgiven from those whom you have hurt. So do try not be too judgemental as I am sure that things will sort themselves out eventually one way or another.
I would also think twice about discussing it with anyone else, well not for the time being at least. My reason for saying this is that the person you discuss it with will probably be sympathetic to your cause and offer you bad advice, which might make you act on rashly and do something that you live to regret. Let it all die down, then see how you feel before discussing it with anyone else.
I hope things work out and that your life will not be effected too much by recent events.
