you can contact spirits but since the dead are dead, you can not contact them
what you will find is that spirits will pretend to be dead persons. as they (the spirits) have been able to observe humans, they know many details about humans lives so as to be able to trick people into believing they (the people) are talking to dead persons.

Don't worry, I am not going to give you any ______ answers. But I will tell you that the devil has you under his fingertips. There is no way for any one to have communication with the dead. All these people who claim that they can do so, is totally possessed by the devil. Call the Bible whatever you like, but it is still God's Word, and Jesus Christ is still Lord, and always will be, whether you want to believe it or not. And this is my suggestion to you; that you call upon Jesus Christ and get right with God. For it is very evident that you need to do so. You can get answers from the dead about as well as I can get answers from a tree. If you are receiving answers, I can guarantee you that they are from the devil; not from those who are dead. If you continue on this course, you are most certainly headed down the road for trouble; and I mean big trouble! And by the way, if all this garbabe about being able to talk to the dead, or them being able to talk to us, do you not think that all the people who have died who have not had their heart in right relationship with God, would be doing everything within their power (if they really had any) to send messages back to us, to warn us to get right with God? For you can rest assured, that they do not like the place which they found to be their final destination. Read Luke 16:19-31. Even though this was a parable of Jesus, it is no more less the truth of reality.

There is no official "How to be a Medium" handbook.
If you are not coming from the right place, you will get nothing but darkness, and trust me when I say that you will be very sorry.
There are some very bad things out there that are looking for a point of entry, and you sound like a prime candidate. I have personally seen this happen, and even if you get them to leave you, they don't go back to where they came from.
The very best mediums are very spiritual and love God, the Creator or whatever you want to call him (or her) and this combined with common sense protects them from harm.
Absolutely no ethical or moral medium or psychic is going to help you or teach you how to tap in to it because you aren't doing it for the right reason.
craziarteest, Sylvia Browne is full of it. She used to be good but lost her gift when she began worshipping money rather than God.

OK for one thing if they were dead they wouldn't be speaking .. they are spirit :o)
yes i do communicate with spirit
but have to say many of what people call apparitions are not spirit .. they would be ghosts which is very different
you are aware of others and are picking up on people which is a great start ,... although everyone has this ability to some degree ... some are more attuned to others naturally or through development
i have to say one thing though ... even if people do call you names etc .. to be spiritual enough to raise yourself to the vibrations of spirit you are going to have to be able to raise yourself well above shouting at others for believing different to you

I don't know if there's a way to get in touch with them other than sending out a personal call for help through your own personal energy and thoughts. You must have something important to share or something of personal meaning or you will not have the energy required to reach them.
Then you must allow them to come to you. They may contact you in a dream or as a whisper in the wind, but you must watch closely as the spirits of all whom have crossed through the veil are everywhere and only you will be able to feel that the one you are looking to connect with has come to you.
And it really is a feeling more than anything. Trust your senses.... you don't need any fancy rituals or spells. Just have an open mind and allow the spirit world to talk to you.

I think if anyone died they would want to contact those they loved. Right? And yet rarely does anyone ever see a ghost and rarer still is it a spirit they even know. So, why is this? I think it is because it is somehow a rule of thumb that the dead aren't really supposed to connect with those whom have emotional attachments to them after they are gone. Maybe it is not good for them in thier new changed existence. Truly many people miss terrribly those that leave us. But maybe the past-on one have the benifit of watching those still living but barred from direct contact. I like to think they are watching you but remain uninvolved and indirect. But if you are seeing those you know regularly than that is even rarer still. I dont know how or why this would happen but I wish you luck in finding what you are looking for.

If I may...there is an example in the Bible when King Saul wanted to talk to the dead prophet Samuel, he consulted a sorceress and she did bring back Samuel and Saul spoke to him, but this type of activity is not recommended by God.
The reason it is not is that God is protecting us from things we don't understand, because you are dealing with spirits. Spirits are stronger than humans and they can inhabit you against your will.....It is kind of like doing drugs. People think they won't get addicted and then....they are trapped against their will.

OK , No religious remarks here. although i have had encounters with things along the line of what you are referring to. As a matter of fact i recall my mom talking about supernatural events when i was growing up . Just recently I have heard phones ringing in the bedroom but there was no phone there, bed covers being tugged at and no one around . As for connecting with so called spirits No thanks . they are in my book EVIL , so do not be so quick to make contact you will regret it

I to believe that I can speak to the dead. Its not like the movies and tvs and ****. I learned to picture this kind of door in your mind when you want to talk to people you open the door and when you dont want to speak to them you close it. I havent learned how to connect to them but boy can THEY connect ME. Mostly family members and people I am close to. Dont let others get you down. They can believe that God created the earth but god forbid you could speak to the deAD LOL

Spirits are really attracted to candle light. Also aparently the early hours of the morning are easiest for them to communicate. I've read alot of Sylvia Browne's books and they are amazing. Aparently her son's new book helps to teach you to be more psychic. His name is Chris Dufresne. Hope that helps.
