they are in one pen now. they have never fought before. the only reason i say fighting roosters is their breed kind of and aparently they are worth more that way.

What it sounds like to me is that you have modern games. According to the American Standard of Perfection written by the American Poultry Association, the modern exhibition game is strictly a fancier's creation and is far removed from the cock fighting that was the vogue of Great Britain.
If you have a fair coming up, you can show these birds, and then end up finding a buyer. You can't show these birds if the comb was removed, but maybe the hens still have these. People at the fair are helpful, and I bet that you will find a buyer for all of your birds.

If the fairs are all done for a year, run an add in the paper for modern game chickens. You can also try the feed store where you buy the feed. Maybe you can post an ad there. Another place is a livestock auction.

To all of those people that call you names for still having your ex-husbands birds, do they believe that pit bulls should all be killed because a few people don't raise them right?

Do NOT sell them as fighting roosters. Sell them as MODERN GAME chickens.
Good luck.

Hello, I am sorry that you are getting attacked on here. And I am sorry that you are going through such a difficult time right now. I don't think you should sell the roosters. You might need it for money but also are trying to do this because you want to hurt your exhusband. But, you should contact a group that helps animals and tell them that you have them and were going to sell them for money...but changed your mind.
You can go through assistance programs for financial assistance, find a temporary job, start a business, and sell other things.
But the value in giving the roosters to the "right" place is that you did something very POSITIVE in such a difficult time. In a year, you will have created a valuable memory that will last a lifetime. Instead of acting in hate or fear or lack, you acted in prosperity, hope, and love. That feeling is something that money cannot buy.

Well for one fighting roosters is illegal in most states and i doubt anyone will take them because if they were used for fighting they can't be put in a pen with other roosters or chickens... you will have to put them to sleep.

You are harassed. You can without doubt pay for a gun on-line - however - you can't 'purchase it' as in they're going to send it to you dwelling. It demands to be shipped to a nearby gun trader who can whole the specified forms. Honeslty - don't hassle. I've owned over one hundred weapons - and no longer a singl one used to be purchased on-line....... considering that I dont like being screwed. If I am gonna pay a pair or hundred or close to 1000 greenbacks for whatever - I desire to shop for it from a nearby man who will deal with me in I have a guarantee quandary or want aid. I have had weapons flip up faulty proper out of the field - and the nearby gun store has grew to become round and passed me one more off the shelf, or, supplied to send it again - and a few fix it in the neighborhood - all free of charge. You is not going to get that on-line. Save the web gun purchasing to the buyers who've connections.

illegal to sell "fighting roosters". If you are against the fighting why would you sell them as that knowing that people would fight them! Just sell them as regular roosters.

Chicken fighting is legal in only two states, New Mexico and Louisiana. If you sell elsewhere you might be in violation of the law.

first of all, you and the buyers should be shot. second of all those roosters are now too aggressive for a normal life in a chicken coop. they would be better off having their necks rung and put in a pot of soup. at least it would be a quicker and a WHOLE LOT less painful of a death for them. my heart goes out to all the abused animals out there. shame on you!!!!!!

You should go to the AASPCA and say you found out about your husband was using these chickens for fighting and can I somewhat make money if I give them to you?

chicken fighting? that is just plain animal cruelty, along with cat, dog, and other animal fights. next time, don't post a question on yahoo answers like this, or you just might get reported, to answers, or the ASPCA!!!
