Christianity makes some people feel good, but has cause many wars and killing. Edison made: light bulbs, recording capability (later put in phones and Cd's), DC electricity, vacuum tubes (later used to make: TV, radios, computers, and vacuum cleaners), and many thousands more. Who deserves more thanks?

Edison, for sure. I couldn't imagine how hard a life without Edison's influence would be, but I get by wonderfully without a thought to jesus or any other religious icon.

Comparing one man to an organisation...... wow ummm
I would have to say christianity has done more for people than thomas edison in the 'spiritual' department. Im an atheist and I would have to answer christianity. If thats going to be linked to the mythical character Jesus... then jesus wins
thomas had a much shorter life span than christianity. Christianity is also made up of millions of people. there just has to be at least 5 good christians in the last 2000 years to have done more for others than edison. In my opinion anyway.

Thomas Edison

Well, I am an atheist but I would say Jesus who has inspired greatness in others (architecture, music) as well as misguided actions (Crusades, literal Bible interpretations).

Inventions are admirable but can often lead to greater problems. Where are all those vacuum cleaners that no longer work now?

Sure it was great work to split the atom but are the consequences worth it? Nuclear medicine is amazing; nuclear power and bombs are not.

If Thomas Edison is responsible for all those cell phone companies, I have a few choice words for him.

GOD BECAUSE HE GAVE YOU LIFE......to be able to enjoy light bulbs, recording capability (later put in phones and Cd's), DC electricity, vacuum tubes (later used to make: TV, radios, computers, and vacuum cleaners), and many thousands more.

I'd say Jesus. His concern is not with the worldly things you mention but the very spirit with in the being.

On the other hand; Edison invented a technology that now sucks up huge gobs of energy, to produce the energy we wind up belching out tons of pollution every day. Thanks a lot Edison!

Whoa man , Most religions that don't follow God's plan are the ones causing wars . You can't say that God is the cause , satan is the prince of the power of the air and is reeking havoc on earth right now as we speak . He just wants to kill and destroy and deceive as many people that he can because he knows he only has a short time to do it . He just don't want to be alone in Hell . Be careful what you say . Matthew 12:36-37

Niether one // Jesus, allthough personally a spiritual genius, and greatest proponent of peace that ever lived. He opened the floodgates of war and devisiveness, that has tortured and killed billions since his demise 2000, years ago.... and T. Edison has done somewhat the same, by inventing the technollogy that has developed into todays modern killing machines!!! We were better off before either one existed...
