The mother cat, actually, will begin looking for a place to give birth about a month into pregnancy (Which is about halfway through) Try to provide a comfortable place for her to have her kittens, such as a dark spot in a closet covered with towels, or a cardboard box that has been fixed up nice for her. Cats want their kittens to be born in a safe, dark place where they feel their babies will be safe. The only thing left to do is wait, and when she's ready, you will know! If you happen to see her at around the time she's about to give birth, you can actually see the contractions in her stomach, and she will meow from the pain. But she'll be fine! Just try to be there for her, and help her out if she needs you! Congrats! Kittens are wonderful!

60 days after the mother cat was in heat.......sometimes they will try to go outside and find a hiding place to have their kittens, so you will need to make sure you keep your cat indoors within a couple of weeks before this. They may also try to find a hiding place inside the house. My cat somehow climbed into one of my dresser drawers, and took her kittens there after they were born. This was because we had another cat that was had her kittens the next day, and they had the same father, which was our orange tom cat. I took the kittens out and put the cats together and their kittens together, which caused them both to take turns nursing each other's kittens while one was away, then they would both sleep with all the kittens. Try to keep a close eye on her when you can tell that her nipples start getting milky, and try to be there to help her with the birth, because there will be a lot of blood when she has her kittens. Find a box or clothes basket, and fill it with blankets and put it in your closet, and she may find this place to have her kittens.

The mother cat will disappear. She'll start looking for an isolated place to have her kittens. She will start pacing and mewing.

the cat will find a birthing place usually in a secluded spot where there are blankets or other soft materials for the kittens to cuddle in.

Actually, it is 63 days after she was bred. (Give or take a few.) They go through contractions and you will be able to see them. Most cats find a quiet place away from everything, so don't be surprised if she has them in your clothes closet!

my cat just wouldn't leave my side, she fallowed me all around the house, and when she didn't fallow me she would take a couple steps and lay down. when she actually had them she started panting real bad, that's when you can tell shes in labor...... make sure you get her a cardboard box with a blanket on the bottom so she has somewhere where she can deliver them.

The cat will hide somewhere when it's time. Usually behind the furniture or someplace else that she feels is safe. like the laundry room or something.

you can't.........but she can............your mama cat will look for a place to have the kittens....usually a place out of the way......you can help....get a basket or a box.......put a blanket in it.....put it in a private place and put your cat in it. if she gets out wait a little and then put her back in....she will soon learn it is where she can have her kittens....when she starts going in and out herself you can bet she will be having her babies soon.....don't make the sides too high......or too low.........after she has her babies....don't pick them up right away or she will move them to hide them from you.........
