Oh wait, you want "affordable?" Then I guess you're not really concened about the humanity of it. Tell you what. Why don't you take a few trips in a cattle trailer or train car yourself, then get back to us on which one you feel is most comfortable.

I'd say school buses- they fit a lot of people on them and the bus drivers are used to putting up with the crap kids pull in the back. (Of course, however, there might need to be a few soldiers ready in the front and back.) There is a school bus company here in Chicago called the "Latino Express"- I'd say we use that one so that they feel at home. We should drive them straight to the border and just drop them off there. Here would be the steps:
a. Build the wall and set up a system to guard it with both soldiers and armed border patrol agents. While this is being done, pass a law criminalizing the presence of illegal immigrants.
b. Find the illegals- require schools to ask if children are legal or not. Check into the cases of "sudden drop-outs" and look into the cases of illegal children. Also, check prisons, public records, etc. (Anything that will separate illegals from citizens and legals.)
c. Give them a year's notice: Give them a chance to ship the things they own, their families, etc. back to Mexico.
d. For whatever people are still left after the year is up: Make them board the school buses and drive them to the Mexican side of the border. (Of course, you'll have to first make sure that they are unarmed.)
e. Pass a law saying that babies born on American soil will only be considered "first-generation American-born citizens" if they were born to people who are citizens or people in the process of becoming citizens. (As for the children born to illegals: If their family didn’t take them back to Mexico, the bus company probably did.)
f. While the above law is being passed, pass a law demanding proof of citizenship when it comes to voting, collecting citizen benefits, etc. We should also figure out a better way to track "tourists" and "international travelers" so that no one mysteriously doesn't show up for their flight and can't be tracked.
g. Continue the deportation process and continue to enforce the laws mentioned until most of the illegals are gone and we have our borders- and country- secure.

*This will probably weed most of them out and block many of the new ones from entering and living in the country. As much as we'd like to use cheaper- but more "inhumane"- methods, we probably won't get our way. The liberals would be crying racism and saying that we "are denying people their human rights", etc. (Ironically, these same people would probably be for abortion, but I digress.) Also, we can probably make up most of the money that we spend by forcing the illegals to pay a fee. (Of course the buses would get ruined after three rounds of illegals sat on them, but we could probably make enough money to buy new ones if we charge enough money per person.)

1. Fine/Imprison ALL employers who hire illegals.

2. Cut off all social benefits paid for with taxpayer dollars. No welfare, no food stamps, no housing, no education, no medical care, other than emergency.

3. Clarify the 14th Amendment which was a not intended as a catch all citizenship for children born to people in this country illegally or to children of non-citizens. This was a contract between the federal government and the progeny of Black African Slaves, which the government now sees fit to renege upon by giving citizenship to those in this country illegally.

There will be no need for buses, trains, etc. Once the big American teat is pulled from their mouths, they will leave the same way they came. If you can't steal jobs from the American worker and can't live off of the American taxpayer, you will self-deport.
