NO! He got a needy son-in-law instead....hehehe....just kidding! Seriously, I am very close to my dad and I think I married a younger version of him! My Dad and husband are very close and sometimes I feel like I got the raw end of the deal!

Nope. My dad is still very helpful. We live next door so I still ask him for advice or help with things. He likes feeling useful and helpful. My husband supports me emotionally, but dad still helps with car issues, etc.

In what way? I mean you change loyalties from your family to your husband, but "lose"? That is an odd word to use.

No he didn't. He was happy that I found someone who would love and care for me on behalf of him. He will be gone one day and it gives him peace of mind to know I have someone who would care and protect me.
