Why are there so many completely lazy, pointless questions?

For instance, " I know like,3 words to this song I heard one time but I really really need to know who sings it"
Or, "Can you give me directions From Walla Walla to Katmandu"
Or, "My dog quit breathing 5 days ago, do you think its dead"
Seriously people, This is a great resource to gain knowledge, quit wasting time on crap you could easily figure out for yourself!

I agree with you whole-heartedly! But,it's not only dumb questions,it's so-called humorous questions.I have reported many of these inane bozos to the Answers team because of their abuse of this tool.Too many people have no respect for others and think it's perfectly alright for them to act any way they want to act;they do not think that they are being a nuisance:they do not think at all! They are not only boorish,but ignorant,idle and vain.They are ill-mannered as well.
To all of you people out there who think that some of us need to lighten up,I say no!You all need to GROW UP!This isn't a jokes site.Develop some sense;this is a QUESTION/ANSWERS site!

These things could have given me many points. I don't know why I want points, but still, they seem to be saught after. Stupid questions are good for us all.

well you see this is what happens....

you're sitting at home alone. You're SO bored. Completely tired of watching TV and don't feel like reading or doing any of the work that you're supposed to be doing so you get on here.

Then you answer a whole bunch of questions that you don't give a toss about - then the damn thing cuts you off and won't let you answer any more qs. So you think - ok - let's ask.

THEN - what the hell are you supposed to ask???!!!! so you sit here trying to think of something - and generally if you're tired/drunk/twelve you come up with something completely dumb and pointless but you post it anyway because you don't know any of the poeple who will be answering your dumb question so really at the end of the day it doesn't matter:)

Here, here! Thank you for agreeing with the general majority! Unfortunately, there are too many people out there that only have TWO brain cells, and if one is used for breathing and the other for typing, that doesn't leave anything left for thinking. Too bad the downfall of society will not be hypocrisy, but idiocy!

I think you have to decide for yourself what you think is a lazy pointless question and what is not. There are a lot of people who are uneducated and a lot of people that don't know how to use the internet to their advantage. So just move on when you see a question that you think is pointless.... There are also a lot of people on here who just want attention, the crazier the question, the more attention for them. I tend to ignore those people..

Why does it matter? If someone asks a pointless question, just don't answer it. Yahoo Answers isn't for exclusively for geniuses. Some of these people are asking for help because they seriously just don't know how to search for info online.

The biggest reason is that there are a lot of lazy people out there with nothing better to do. The second biggest reason is that Yahoo penalizes people for asking questions.
