When you have religion being discussed there will always be bigots. Bigots have no respect whatsoever if the religion is 1000 years before them or 1000 years after them. Chrisitanity being one of them. If they follow what God instructed the Christians to do, then they would understood what is wrong and right. Sadly, they replace God with Jesus with poor proof. I am not a Christian, too. Anyway, God told them not to criticize anyone because they are different. What they believe is wrong and blasphemous. No wonder, everyone in the world hates Christians and Jews because they blasphemize and use religion as an excuse for killing and brainwashing fellow humans.

You know what.... back when I was in middle and high school I used to think I had to hide my beliefs too, but I've been wearing my pentagram necklace for about ten years now and openly sharing about being Pagan and I'm pleasantly surprised at how many people of every faith are open to learn about other religions.
Most people are quite accepting and non-judgemental, especially when you talk to them one on one.
Yes, there will always be a few people who will be a bad representation of their religious or other type group, but you can't allow the few closed-minded people make you judge a whole group based on the actions of one.
Be trusting, loving and open with people and the same trust, love and openness will come back to you.
It feels so much better to keep an open mind, than to close it off and disconnect yourself from the rest of the world. If only we all realized just how connected we are, the world would be a much more peaceful place.

Hate? Or are religions so insecure that believers think that any critical analysis or criticism is hateful?
My experience is that even when I am very level and unemotional about religious issues, that believers just cannot handle any sort of doubt or probing into their beliefs. People tend to be very insecure about beliefs, probably for a good reason, as beliefs tend to be nonsense.
What that indicates to me is a lack of maturity and little or no spirituality, pretending it is something that it is not.
If you have to hide your religion it is probably best to get rid of it as it must be defective and you just cannot accept that what you want to be true is false to someone else.
I suspect that you are really more concerned with fitting in to some group and being accepted. You are aware that your beliefs would signal that you have membership in some other group and you don't know how to handle that conflict. You interpret it as hate coming from others when it is just your inability at dealing with multiple religious memberships.

Hey storm, speaking as a Christian please understand that most
of us don't hate anyone. But all over the world there is a lot of
prejudice as you well know. In addition there are any number of
wars being fought with over 95% of them involving Muslims. So
people are just tired of this sort of thing and they blame the people
involved in the hostilities. Hence you see a lot of hate especially
toward the Muslim religion. What ever you're religion is pray
that your religious leaders will influence the community at large
to stop hostilities against innocents.

Too many religions teach intolerance to others. They can pose a very real threat to safety in many ways. From discrimination in the job place all the up to and including terrorist acts.
It is reasonable to "hate" that which can be a threat to you. The problem is determining exactly what that is and includes, so many simply lump all of them together as dangerous and go with that.

Listen, you got the Right from Almighty GOD to Believe what-ever you want to.
You don't have to be bothered by People trying to get you SAVED.
JUST TELL THEM (in a Nice Way), " I have Already Heard about JESUS", "Thank you very much".
That is all it should take, you only have to hear about JESUS ONCE, then your held Responsible for Hearing the WORD after that.
My Bro.'s and Sis.'s in the LORD are just trying to help. But it can become Bothersome, espcially if you don't want JESUS to be your Saviour.
We should all try to BE NICE. It's in the BIBLE.
Hope this helps.

I have hatred for no one except for the heinous acts of terrorists and sexual predators (both of whom use violence on innocent people.) If you feel that you have to hide your religion, that suggests that you do not have the faith in it to defend it publicly. I accept you for whomever you are but in Christian love for a fellow brother or sister, I would be remiss if I did not hope that you would find the Lord for then you would not have to be ashamed of your faith.

its not that they want to insult they just want to guide you to see the truth. Plus the media has a big hand in insulting religions, i.e the Simpsons and Jesus, American Dad and muslims, and some ignorant moronic people seem to believe everything on TV (what has the world come to?)

It's another one of those human nature things at work, and Satan trying to divide us and keep as many people from God as possible. Don't be ashamed, if you are a Christian, remember Romans 1:16 -->
'For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes.'!

No need to hide.
Jesus says it is better to be hated by the unbelievers if you believe in him than to gain the whole world and accomplish nothing.
The unbelievers mistakenly believe its the christians who are wicked and they fail to realise that christians must warn then on the basis and commands of the scriptures.
