I"m looking for a small car that I can use to learn how to work a manual tranmission and do a little bit of crazy driving. It has to be small, cheap (3,000 or less used) and have a really good transmission. I was thinking the old 80's Toyota Corolla.

If you can find a 1986-87 Honda Civic Si or CRX Si in decent condition, either one would be the perfect car.

Gas mileage = 30-35 mpg in mixed driving

Price = $1,000 - $2,500 depending upon model and condition

A blast to drive and deceptively quick with great handling and manuverability -and with a super nice shifting with the 5-speed transmission!
