I think not. I call my dad dad, father dearest, daddy, double d,etc. Mostly just to be funny and I know it doesnt bother him, but as for other people, i don't know.

I don't think so. A lot of it depends on what your family uses for terms of endearment. I'd almost think that girls who call their fathers daddy are more spoiled. But I'm from Boston and I don't think I know of any friends who call their fathers daddy around here.

No, I think what you got into the habit of calling your father has nothing to do with how close/not close you are to him.

I am 56, my father is 91 and I still call him...Daddy!

Nah. I called mine daddy til he died at 62. Our son called his father Pa when he was little. He watched alot of Little House. Then it changed to dad, then father, then dad and now he calls him pops. Most parents call their kids different things. I range from calling my son by his name, or honey, or youngun or even baby boy. At 28 you know he loves that. m

i don't understand what different peoples outlook in this question is, yet for me... Daddy is a fashion for me to be nearer with my daddy, and it makes me experience nearer then people who call their fathers dad. i think of it makes you nearer then people who call there fathers dad... whats up it is in basic terms my opinion!
