Well, considering that there are studies indicating that religious people have BETTER sex... (you can take that any way you choose)... I would say NO. But the missionary position got its name for a reason, and without looking it up, I know only it came from indigenous natives (polynesian) observing the Christian Missionaries doing what they did.I have no idea WHY they chose to have sex in that position only, or why only that position was "allowed". My guess would be that, given the Catholic strictures on sex for procreation only, imaginative sex was too much fun for the Pope to allow. Plus, it calls for a male-dominant role in that activity, and that feeds into almost all "modern" religions. I don't recall any "christian" restrictions on sex within marriage that are scripturally based... Only sex outside marriage.
But I would caution against some christians and some Jews having sex standing up>
It could lead to dancing.
:-D

I do not think there are "rules" on positions. If you are in a Christian marriage(or any marriage that practices a religion) The main part is that you know sex is a special thing to be shared between a husband and a wife.

Well it is not "christianity" but Catholicism that only allows for missionary to be 'right" that is due to Genisis. However in the protestant faiths as far as I know any way that gets the job done works. And in the pagan community it doesn't matter as long as you are consenting.

Positions? No, that is the business of the couples.
As a missionary, those who sent me on mission have nothing to do with my private life with my partner but they expect us to live a happy life.Privately what is done in the mission field, missionaries should also know that God is filming everything they are doing.
God bless you.

Getting bored heh? I don't remember anything from religious text that gave a list of recommended positions - so anything you've heard (missionary only) is from twisted controlling perverts who wish to deny people experimenting. I would suggest avoiding standing up in a hammock (unless you've got the neighbours steadying the ropes).

Here we go. Christianity advocates sex for reproductive pruposes. I don't think this is a valid take. So, once you go past the reproduction field, why not change things. Our bodies were created by God, and between consenting adults, why not just go ahead and just make the most out of it. If you and your partner are on the same page, you can go ahead. Moreover, it is personal, so you won't need to address it. You will be surprised to hear how many "Christians" are spicing it up.

I remember hearing a joke that certain Baptist sects aren't allowed to make love standing up -- because someone might think they are dancing.
As a serious answer, some religions (like Catholics) believe that sex is for procreation, so any sexual positions (fellatio, sodomy) that can not lead to pregnancy could be considered sinful.

The only positions that are not allowed are "more than two" married people (equivalent marriages disregarded of course).

It depends on interpretation. There is no truly definative source but if you are looking for ideas of sexual positions for the purpose of religious enlightenment - try the Kumatra Sutra.

Anal sex is condemned by most religious groups (except for those who "accept" homosexuality). As for the rest... The Catholic Church "tolerates" sex ONLY when procreation is involved.
