I'm 15 years old now, and when I was 7 years old, I never took good care of my teeth when I had braces(I had braces for 5 or 6 years) I brushed them sometimes but usually I never brushed them. I went to my dentist and she said I couldnt get my teeth bleached because I wasnt 18 and then she said even if I were to get them whiten, it would only whiten the little white spots on my teeth, like they are kinda brownish with little white spots on them but they are mosty brownish, and then she said it would only whiten the white spots on my teeth, not the brown, which is most of my teeth.

Is there any way to whiten my teeth like some home remedy mixture or product?

Is it true that if I bleached my teeth, it would only bleach the little white blotches on them?

Thanks and the person who answers both of these questions gets the TEN points.

You can try to use baking soda or toothpaste with baking soda in it. Brush your teeth at least 2 to 3 times a day. You can also try Crest whitening stripes. Use mouth wash. I don't know if that is true about bleaching your teeth and it will only get the white blotches on your teeth. I would go to another dentist just to get a second opion. I had braces too and you should have taken more care of your teeth when you had them on.

I was in the same situation as you, I am now 24 but when I was younger I had braces for five years, and unfortunately my dental hygiene wasn't all that great. Whitening is important, especially now that your teeth are straight you want them to look beautiful. I find the most important thing to use is your toothpaste. I use arm and hammer whitening and have for years. Baking soda is one of the key ingredients of teeth whitening, and arm & hammer has a lot of it. The flavour of the toothpaste is normal and the results are unbelieveable. It does take time, but you will notice the difference. I have also used crest whitestrips, they work really good too, as well they take time.
My teeth use to be fairly yellow, and now they are a very nice white, I actually get compliments on them all of the time. I drink a lot of coke, no coffee or tea though, but haven't found this to hurt me. I guess soemthign like that might depend on you.
Anyway, remember no matter what you do it will take time, but will be worth it in the end.
Good luck on your gleaming smile!

The best solution so far is the most expensive one. I don't know if you are qualitfied to take that treatment in the States. That's laser-whitening. If you can't afford, the next best thing is to use a good brand of whitening toothpaste like Rembrant but it will only get rid of surface stains. Permanent whitening will definately be laser.

There are a lot of products out there that help to make your teeth whiter but then after it all they just damage your teeth I think that if you have a problem consult your dentist he will provide you with the best solution to your problem

Yes go to your dentist and ask him to put enamel on your teeth...this is like a varnish they put on your teeth...and brush your teeth 4 times a days and it will keep them clean and healthier.

they do have those whitening stip things. dont talk to your dentist, they're dumb. talk to a person at your pharmecy or talk to someone at a bleaching place and they can answer all your question.
