My mother wasn't abusive at all, however it all depends on how you would define abusive, I mean did she drag you around the house by your hair? or beat you? or was she sharped tongued? My mother has only been abusive to herself by letting people walk all over her. Don't ever let anyone do that to you...You are a very wonderful person and deserve the best...kisses and hugs honey!! smoooch!!

Yes, I have an extremely abusive mother. 14 years ago, I stopped seeing my mother in order to stop the abuse and to heal. I think it is more difficult to heal from a mother's abuse because people generally have difficulty seeing mothers as abusive.

Since people often have difficulty accepting that, a mother can be abusive, it is difficult to receive validation and acknowledgement for the abuse and healing can't begin without acknowledgement from either the abuser or other's.

I assume from your question that your mother is abusive as well. I hope that you can find people to aid you in your healing.

My mother wasn't physically abusive, she was more emotionally abusive. I could never do anything right. She was controlling also. I had to be at your beck and call, even when I moved out and had a child of my own. She would get mad and tell me not to ask her for anything if she called and needed me to do something for her and I already had plans with friends. It was never ending. I loved my mother but also hated her.
