A journey of a thousand miles begins with one step. Or, a successful weight loss journey also begins with a step. If you fell down (on your diet) just get back up and start all over again tomorrow morning. Pretend that yesterday never happened, and you will be successful. Best of luck, and stay with it!

Well first thing being on a diet doesn't mean you shouldn't eat, you should just eat healthier. Don't be one of the people who just shoves salads down their throat and is like wow I am so full then don't eat the rest of the day, then you have a problem. Keep a record of all the calories you are in-taking throughout the day then total them up each night you should be taking in somewhere around 1500-2500 calories a day- keeping in mind that they are good not junk food. It is ok to reward yourself every once in a while with some good Chinese food or pizza. Incorporate some exercise into your daily routine not just a diet, you will not only see better results but you will feel better about yourself. Remember protein is key for rebuilding muscle, and water is essential 6-8 glasses a day! Good Luck.

Diet is not ruined.
Diet originally were for people who needed to loose weight for surgery .......
Once they were well know people started using them to reduce for other occasions wedding.......
Diet cannot be a long term solution if you wish to loose the weight and keep it there.
First of all no one can stay on the diet in definitely, when one goes off the diet he or she will gain it all back plus some. Five pound per wk is too much.
Lifestyle change is the answer. By changing your lifestyle you would try and loose say 1/4 t0 1/2 a pound per week maximum. This way you take long time to get to the ideal weight and keep it.
You should use Biomass index as a guide line and go from there, again your goal shoul be no more then 1/2 Pound per week, with addition help and benefit of light exercises.

Look have to tell you there is no such thing as a diet! Diets do not work. You cannot possibly go the rest of your life on a diet so you may as well face the facts. The key to loosing weight is good eating habits and regular exercise even if it is just a good walk. The only things diets are good for is to build up cellulite, and a quicker weight return. It will not kill you to have a binge once a week so go out for tea and have fun. Tomorrow start eating regular healthy snacks and meals and go for a walk you will feel wonderful. Don't forget though, allow once a week to spoil yourself on something you want.

You have to treat yourself every once in awhile. Have fun. You will find that you are unable to eat as much as you were used to eating after awhile. There are healthy options at the buffets, and you don't have to gorge yourself. You will gain a little, but don't worry. I only get on the scale once a week (cause you do fluctuate, and that can be depressing).
I lost 105 pounds in 6 months. Here is how I did it.
1. Every morning get up and walk for 45 minutes. You can start with less time, but you want to get up to 45 minutes, and it must be fast walk. You want your heart rate to go up. It must be in the morning, it kick starts your metabolism.
2. I cut out Red Meat, and fatty foods. Boneless skinnless chicken breast, baked, or grilled, rice and vegetables (steamed).
3. Eat half. Just eat half of what you normally eat. Put 1/2 on your plate, and put the rest away. Cook less. When you go to fast food, get salads only. Or grilled chicken. No fries, diet soda. Or water.
It will work, once you get into a routine, you will get hooked on the results, and you will keep the routine. It has been over a year for me.

Don't worry, your diet doesn't have to be ruined! Just go to McDonald's and look up how many calories is in an egg McMuffin (they have a calorie chart), then go to the gym and burn it off. For the Chinese buffet, you can still go, just try not to eat anything deep fried or high in fat. If worst comes to worst and you pig out at the buffet, then just have like one meal tomorrow, like a salad or something, and spend a long time at the gym or doing cardiovascular exercise. Good luck! I hope you stay on your diet!

You need to get off whatever diet you were on and eat sensibly. It's ok to have an egg mcmuffin or chinese every once in a while as long as you don't have them every day, week or whatever. Your diet should consist of vegetables, fruits, and good protein (low in saturated fat), GOOD carbs (no processed sugar or baked goods). Stick to eating foods on the perimeter of the grocery store (where all the fresh things are!). Losing 5 lbs in one week is also not healthy, 1-2 lbs per week is a good pace. Mix your new eating regimen with daily exercise 20-30 min per day and you will lose weight/fat.

Hey, STOP... slow down... relax. Remember, its not what you do once in awhile that ruins your diet, but what you do day in and day out. One day of eating more then you'd like isn't going to make you obese. First of all, plan ahead. You know you are going to a chinese buffet, decide what you will eat first. Try filling up on some soup first, then go for the veggies. I love the Green Beans they have, then maybe a LITTLE sweet and sour or whatever is your favorite. Have a piece of cake afterwards to celebrate, but only a SMALL piece, and just a dab of ice cream. You'll do fine.

Don't worry, your diet is not ruined. A little cheating doesn't do harm, after all it was a special birthday celebration SO Just continue the next day with your diet. I found that a little cheating is OK, as long as its not done too often.
WELL DONE ON THE 5LBS YOU'VE LOST SO FAR - not bad @ all for a week & a Half! You deserve a little reward now & again SO....Good Luck!

lol... i i wouldnt go on a diet... i just go on an excersize routine combined w/ eating right. But sometimes you have to reward yourself w/ good food. Its important that you dont starve yourslef though.... yeah you'll lose weight at the start.. but w/e you eat your body will keep it longer in its system because it knows it wont get any food in a long time... so ironicly the only way to speed up your matabolisim is to eat more small meals... about 5 a day. It works for me... I've lost like half an inch of fat from my waste in like 2 weeks.

RELAX. You are the problem here, don't you know??
Simple solution - your diet doesn't have to be ruined. Chinese buffets have a wonderful fruit and salad table. Sure, splurge and indulge yourself slightly, but for main course, take the boiled eggs, canteloupe, watermelon, honey-dews, etc.
Congratulations !!! We all fall off a diet now and again. That's life. If dieting were easy we'd alll be thin.
