Cats are not meant to be crated. A kitten of that age is litterbox trained already, and is perfectly fine being left to roam the house at night. If you must, confine her to a room with food, water, and litterbox to keep her out of trouble. But don't cage a cat, it's cruel and unneccesary.

When I got my first kitten after college, he was crated when I left the apartment. I had the biggest Vari-Kennel, and got a litterbox and food and water, and he was in there while I was gone....at least until he was about 5 months. You will need a litterbox amd water at the very least.
Cats are nocturnal, so there may be destructiveness in the crate.
If you are doing this just to get her to sleep at night, it may not work well. Active play during the few hours before bed time is better. If you are not getting the energy release, you nay have a very unhappy cat.

Kittens are just not going to sleep through the night. Can't you give her a room where she could be during the night?
I can't imagine doing this to a cat. They are not dogs and don't take well to this kind of "training".
Sounds as if you need to get another kitten so she won't be lonely and put her in a separate room. She will have company and not be so stressed by confinement.
It is just not natural for a kitten to be confined.

No you usually only train a puppy to the crate. You shouldn't lock her up in a crate at nite that's when they are most active.
I have 4 cats 2 that I raised from 10 days old, they will find a nice comfortable place to sleep, two of mine sleep in my bed with me 1 sleeps in my son's room and the 4th sleeps on the couch.
You would be better off buying your cat a warm fuzzy bed and train her to sleep in that if you don't want her cuddling with you or sleeping your bed or furniture.

Its cruel to expect a cat or kitten to stay confined in a crate. Why does she have the need to sleep in a crate if you have to keep a cat locked up. Maybe a cat is not the pet for you.

Why did you get a kitten then? Part of a cats charm is the fact that they have a will of their own. Cats are nocturnal, the sleep most of the day and then play at night. This is what a cat is. If you don't want it by you while you are sleeping then keep your bedroom door closed. Please don't try to make it something it is not. It wouldn't be fair to make the cat sleep when you sleep then be up all day alone while you are busy.

cats are more active at night so this will be very difficult you would be better off simply confining her to a room at night so it can still run and play as it needs to.. confining a kitten is possible but isnt ideal
if you must do it make sure the kitten gets ALOT of playing beore bed and ideally throughout the day ... simply put it in the kennel and ignore till morning - if you come and let it out in the night when it meows it will learn to meow to get out and wont rest...
many shelters have to kennel their kittens at night so it isnt impossible, no food or water in the kennel or you will have accidents

Cats are nocturnal critters...I would never put one in a crate at night, or at any time for that matter. When mine do sleep at night, most of them are right on my bed. If you wanted a pet in a cage, you should have bought a hamster.

this is attainable for some cats. I had to do it for a pair weeks whilst my cat broke her leg and it became into no longer exciting for the two human beings. yet i does not do it except this is surely mandatory, which it does not sound like it fairly is on your situation. Cats decide to have loose roam and protecting them close up for 8+ hours a night isn't probably honest. in assessment to canines, maximum cats do no longer in basic terms circulate directly to sleep whilst their human beings do and stay that way for the period of the night. They nap for in basic terms somewhat, then play and wander, then nap some extra. This development could make a small crate torturously uninteresting, to no longer point out he would probably yowl each minute he's unsleeping. interior the long term, i think he would strengthen some extreme habit subjects. in case you do no longer have faith him unsupervised interior the homestead, the place is he for the period of the day? And why did you get a cat in case you probably did no longer have a fashion of protecting him faraway from rabbits and vegetation?
