i had a big blister on my foot and it's popped few weeks back. The blister slowly died down and it's almost flat now, but the skin that died down has a different color(slightly darker color) and is hard. do i need to do something about this or is this normal? and when and how would this go away?

any triple antibiotic ointment and a bandaid...the ointment will kill any bacteria in the open blister and the bandaid will keep it clean while you have your shoes and socks on...

Assuming you have no medical problems, such as Diabetes, I would soak the foot a couple of times a day. After this, make sure the foot is completely dry, apply a good antibiotic salve to the area, and cover with a clean bandage. wear only white socks until it heals, as dye from colored socks can infect. If it doesn't look any better in a few days, get to your doctor.

Ok... Army trick on your way. You need a clean needle and a sewing line soaked in alcohol. the problem with puncturing your blisters is that they close and get filled with liquid again, plus the danger of infections. So... thread the line and go through the blister, from one side to the other. Cut the line, leaving 5mm on each side of the blister. It will act as a drain. Betadine that stuff.Once the skin is ok, count to three and pull the line.

it is ok. It will come out by itself if you do not feel any pain anymore. I have that often. I got two blisters filled with my blood once. Just peel it little bit to air it out (the water will come out- do not peel all the skin), just leave it and do not forget to use antibiotic and close it so it wont be infected. The brown skin will peel by itself (so do not peel it-sometime it is still stuck there) and it will be replaced by the new one.

take off the dead skin and it will heal faster then u think. i had this huge one on my thumb, and the skin came off so i just left it alone after i took off the skin. it healed 2xs faster. believe me. i get them all the time. they will heal faster than with the skin. believe me. good luck with the dead blister!

Go see your gp they may be able to prescribe you some cream to soften skin and reduce risk of infection.

you can leave it alone or you could get a finger nail clipper and clip the skin off

i would clean it, and then put a cortizone cream or polysporin on it and cover it with a band aide.
