I have known him for 7 months and miss him very much. What can I do to stop myself from picking-up the phone and phoning him? We left on good terms, but have not been in contact for 1 week now. I know we are not meant for each other, but I miss the friendship we had.

Love is accepting each others strong and weak points. If you still feel you two cannot get on together find a new boy friend. You are still single and craving for love. Finding a new boy friend will divert your love towards your new boy friend instead of craving love from your old boy friend. Yes its hard to let go but once you have found new love thers no looking back.

You can continue to ask him out or meet as friend.
Hope your feeling and concern is from friend aspect, not love.
If you cannot stop loving him, then try iron out things that blocks your way.
Let your feeling settle down first, then think carefuly, you want to re-start the relationship as friend, and not lover. When you continue the relationship in a confusing manner, it will like cause more misunderstanding and damage your friendship.

7 months ain't nothing. Move on and you will be OK. I have been in a worse situation. You will be OK. I promise. Think about the other lady that was with her guy for 15 years. She got over it and so will you.
