What exactly are you trying to do? Why do you want to make jello harder?

You can use Knox gelatin to make jello blocks harder by using them to double the jello strength. Make the jello squares recipe following the normal recipe and just add the Knox. It does not dissolve well so follow its package directions for dissolving with your regular flavored jello. I generally just use 2 packages of jello and half the water because I like the stronger flavor.

I think the directions for dissolving Knox say to disperse in cold water before the hot is used.
