Chocolate may be better for your health than tea because it contains more of a chemical that could prevent cancer and heart disease, researchers have said.
The researchers said: "Drinking a cup of tea and eating a chocolate cookie might be not only enjoyable but healthy as well."

Yes and No. Unfortunately, there is no firm consensus yet.
Chocolate has a very high concentration of antioxidants. Higher than green tea, red wine, blue berries, or any thing else touting a their flavinoid content.
Also, chocolate has natural anti-depressants that make us feel good.
Recent studies have indictated that it may help reduce blood pressure.
Obviously, the darker the better since the darker the chocolate, the less sugar.
My opinion, a few pieces a day is the way to go.

Chocolate, like any other food substance is OK in moderation. Too much of any food is bad for you.
Having said that, witholing chocolate from my girlfriend at that time of the month is tantamount to a death wish :)

If you have every watched QI you should know that chocolate is actually toxic to humans but only in large quantities (22lbs apparently).
Think it is much more a psychological feeling of well being than any particular chemicals that makes people feel good.

Yes, in moderation. As well as containing a chemical that could prevent cancer and heart disease, it also has anti-oxidants and a chemical that makes you happy and relaxed.

A small amount of dark 85% cocoa chocolate every day is good for you! It contains vitamins and helps your brain produce seratonin (a natural feel good chemical!) And it is yummy too!
