Usually yawning has to do with the brain getting enough oxygen. Some people say it is related to something being boring. When you are breathing shallowly you get less O2 so you body wants to stretch and get more. Be sure the places you find yourself yawning are wll ventilated.Besure cars have good muffler systems.

It is not bad, but it may be your body trying to tell you your blood sugar level is low. When the blood sugar (fuel) is low, your brain either asks for more fuel (eat, eat sweets, crave whatever one may be addicted to) or slows down (fatigue, depression) or simulates exercise (yawning, heart pumping, shortness of breath).
If you find yourself doing this at about 10-11:30 am or 2-3:30 pm, it is a sign that your breakfast or lunch is starting to wear off. This is normal. If you find yourself doing this at other times of the day, then you may have a condition called hypoglycemia (chronic low blood sugar). This condition is one result of another condition called hyperinsulinemia (insulin overproduction). Hyperinsulinemia and hypoglycemia are pre-diabetic conditions and should be investigated by you and your physician.
For basic information on hypoglycemia, check out www.hufa.org.
For basic information on hyperinsulinemia, check out www.mayoclinic.com and search for hyperinsulinemia.

It's because you have a boring life. Try hitting random fat people or getting into fun car accidents. That should make you stop yawning.

Maybe thats coz you see someone else yawn and yawning is contagious.
Maybe your eyes are dry. I yawn more when I wear my contact lens.

From what I understand, science isn't copmletely sure why we yawn. I'm not sure how to prevent it from happening, but it's not bad, it's normal.
