Treat your symptoms. A certain amount of exposure to whatever bother you is unavoidable. Allergy shots available from your Doctor are a great way to make sure your forays into the outside world are pleasant inside of painful. But you don't have to rely on them. Over the counter antihistamines, available from your local druggist, work wonders on drippy noses and red, itchy eyes. For the most part, they do a good job. But if you have an allergy that persists for more than five to seven days, you should probably see your Doctor.

Allergy is basically a reaction to some irritating substance. So best way to treat it would be to eliminate the irritant which could be dust, pollen or anything for that matter.
To relieve symptoms first consult your doctor about the type of allergy you have.

There is some mention of asthma and allergies in the diet books that approach diet by way of reducing insulin production, as insulin production has an effect on the production of a lot of other chemicals and hormones, including histamines and anti-histamines.

You may want to check out the library link at www.hufa.org for more info on diets that control blood sugar which is how you control insulin production.

See your primary healthcare physician, first, to make sure that there is no underlying cause to your symptoms. If he says that you're okay, than go to a specialist.
