However, I have found that they may be good but it is a thing of mind over matter. I wanted to look good for a friend of mine, so I cut out sugar and high sodium in my diet for one week. I stopped being bloated all the time. I had a few cravings but I figured that I could have them later. Other things that will help stave this craving and fool you into thinking you are getting some high quality sugar is some of Smucker's Sugar Free Preserves. They taste like they have a crap load of sugar but they don't and they only have 25 calories and 5 carbs per serving size of like 1 tbsp. I eat that with some type of healthy whole-wheat bread and my body assumes I've had sugar.
Most of the time, I crave sugar rarely. Only when I see it and I'm hungry (as in it's getting close to that 2-3 hr period) then I'm unable to control myself.
So plan accordingly and keep healthy sweets near you like frozen grapes, strawberries, raisins (not my fav), etc.

You should start the day with some slow release carbs. Brown bread or cereals with complex carbs (Cheerios = great).
Orange juice will provide a very quick fix of sugar. Try these and look at the GI (Glyceamic Index), this shows how fast some foods turn to sugar.
A Balanced diet will help.
Before I did this, I was eating chocolate first thing in the morning.

Rid your home of ANY sweets and food that you DON'T want to put in your body. Most of the time, cravings are short-lived.
If you have a snack machine at work, don't bring any money that you can put into it. Bring your own food. That way, when you're tempted to nosh on something at your desk, it's something that's good for you.
You're going to crave them. I've been off of them for three years, and *I* still have cravings sometimes.
