i recently had problems with my t.v., so like a moron i tried to fix it myself. i messed it up bad, but eventually got the screen looking in order again. The only problem is on the sides of the screen, mostly noticable on the right, they are green tinted and a little out of focus. Is there a way to coorect this, even if it means opening her up?

Your TV might have a degaussing option to get rid of the effects of magnetic interference. Most TVs automatically degauss when you turn it on though. Check and make sure there are no electronic items nearby that are causing this interference. Even another CRT monitor, like a computer monitor, can cause interference if it's too close. If you don't move the interference, the green tint can become permanent.

The problem is not due to CRT being magnetised so don`t worry about degaussing , when you were messing with the insides you must have moved the convergence controls or purity rings , you may even have moved the deflection yoke ! what ever you have done your chances of getting it right by random fiddling are remote, time to call someone who knows how to reset every thing .
