I am having cronic back and leg pain, I've been told by a few people to go to a Neurosergon, but my family Dr. wants to send me to an Ortho. I'm not sure which is better.

hi i am a nurse you would be better seeing an ortho first, as a neurologist is a doctor who treats disease in and around the central nervous system and brain, i would listen to your doc as he is medically trained and i doubt the people you spoke to are

You probably need to see both, but I would see the orthopedic first. They can access what the problem is and go from there. So many things can be wrong when it comes to the back. Follow through with your ortho, make sure you feel he is doing everything to help you and if not then get a second opinion. Good Luck!

i would go with what your family dr suggests. orthopedic doctors are trained specifically for these areas iif he thinks after a tests are done that a neurosurgen should be consulted he will suggest

I would go and see the orthopedic surgeon. I would also ask your doctor why he doesn;t think a neorosurgeon would be best.

Otho deals with bones. Do what your doctor tells you. Neuro deals with brain disorders

i would listen to your doctor....he's the one that at least somewhat knows what he's talking about
