The Comcast installation guy told me I have to keep my cable box plugged in all the time. Is this true? I rarely watch TV and got cable mainly for college football season.

Cable boxes update their programming during the night. Even with the switch off the box is on for that purpose. It draws very little power so why unplug it? If left unplugged you may have to wait a few minutes for it to turn on if a programming change took place during the night. This is also true with satellite boxes.

Ya, just unplug it. When you plug it back in, it should reboot itself, if not, call Comcast and have them reboot it.
