Congratulations on your new baby! it depends. What is the baby doing when its awake? if crying or showing signs of discomfort then you should consult your doctor. Remember though that as babies grow older, they need less sleep. Its also important to remember that you shouldnt be forcing the baby to sleep. While the baby is awake, try to keep her active with exercises [baby exercises, not aerobics or anything involving a bow flex] and play time.

Its probably okay, most babies that young run on their own schedule. My daughter usually slept about 15 hours a day, but there were times when she also only slept about 6.
The baby will sleep when their tired...

yes this is normal..sometimes they do not sleep if they have something called (colic) it is when they get trapped wind and they cannot burp my son had that for the first 9 moths of his life they sleep for maybe 1 hour or less then wake up crying kicking there legs up by their tummy..it is uncomfortable for them you can get medicine to put in there bottle called infacol you put a couple of drops in their drink..good luck..

Let the baby sleep all they want. They know themselves best. If they can cope with 8-10hrs, it is ok..:)
