Something not a chicken laid an egg and out of it came a chicken..... evolution..... so the egg came first.
(where I define a chicken egg as something that produces a chicken..... if I defined it as something that a chicken lays then vv)
BTW.... eggs have been around long before chicken... lizard eggs dinosaur eggs etc... so actually the egg came first.

A chicken is a creature with a unique set of genes (DNA) distinguishing it from all other creatures. The genes were contributed 50-50 as a combination of the genes of the male and female parents. The first chicken had to hatch from an egg containing the mixed genes of two creatures that were not (but perhaps almost?) chickens. Thus the egg came first; if you believe in DNA. If you don't believe in DNA, the yokes on you!!

God and since almost everything requires sexual reproduction there would have to be a Rooster and a Chicken. Because a chiclen can lay an Egg but the Egg would never be fertile without the Rooster.

Which came first - the chicken or the egg? "The chicken" came first - in the sentence of the question. If the question is phrased differently, the answer is different.

Most likely the chicken, because something had to incubate the egg and then care for the helpless newborn chick.

Egg. Scientifically, it is proved that life started from a single cell. Egg is single cell and ostrich's egg is world's biggest cell.

I think God created them both together.
The chicken was sitting on the egg.
