the fonts arent lost, and i am talking about my windows xp fonts dir. someone has installed loads of fonts which i dont want. So what i want is to restore that dir like it was when you first install XP! thx

SORRY I got your problem wrong.

there is only one thing you can do. copy the standard fonts from someone else's computer. delete all your fonts and now install the standard xp fonts.

I didn't want to include the entire article here, but if you click on Start, then click Help and Support, type in "restore fonts," you will bring up the information you need.

If it's on the Internet, go to VIEW at the top and look for it there. If it's normal font like on your start menu or desktop icons, that's something else. You turn everything off until your on desktop. Then right click and go to properties, then go to settings or find it somewhere else on PROPERTIES.

I have no idea how you lost them. Try using Restore and go back to the last time you had them or reinstall windows.
