It's really uncomfortable sitting face to face with someone you don't know from Eve. I can't stop fidgeting.

One of the most disturbing characteristics about first dates is that two "strangers" seem to wish to bond as best they can in order to establish a friendship that could potentially become a romantic relationship.

But the fact is, nothing can come from this desire to befriend if you're not willing to give of yourself.

So if you want to truly be comfortable in a date, you first have to learn to give of yourself.

And you'll realize that if you learn how to give of yourself, you won't be sitting face to face. You'll be sitting next to each other.

You won't be fidgeting. You'll be hand gesturing to better explain yourself.

You won't be nervous. You'll be engaged in the conversation.

You won't be left blank and wondering what to talk about. Your conversation will flow.

Learn to give.

No, there is no way to be more comfortable on a first date. Thing to remember is the other person is also uncomfortable, that helps a little.

First, don't have any prior expectations of your date. Just let it lead wherever it leads. Second, just be yourself. Third, pretend to yourself that you have known this person for years and talk freely as though this person is your very best friend. These three steps will make your date feel more comfortable with you, as well. Good luck!

You have to settle down and get to know your date. Everything has to have a beginning. Just be yourself. Your date may be just as nervious as you.

Honey, the answer would be alcohol. Unless of course you're not 21, then you're screwed.
