I really really want to know that. Is it possible for someone to carry aids and still stay alive for a long time. How does the HIV carriers (who infect others) for long. If everyone with aids die so soon then why aids isnt getting exterminated (cause everyone is dying and none will be left to infect others)? Mail me with answers if anyone wants..... :)

The sooner you get tested, and the sooner you begin treatment medication, then longer you can extend your life before AIDS sets in. Currently, today, HIV patients are living up to 15yrs before AIDS begins. Once AIDS begins, you only have about 2-4yrs, depending on the individual.

The answer is defenitevely no. It is not possible. Scientific are making research on aids but it is not easy. Viruses aren't affected to antibiotics cuz they lack of peptidoglycan ( a cell wall only bacteria has). They replicate by hosting into a cell and replicating itself until it bursts. The free viruses goes into another cell host and thus it repeats its cycle. Especially aids, it destroys "T" cells. Those t cells give signals to your immune system to produce whatever protects you from diseases. Since they are all destroyed, your body gets no more signals. No more protection, soo vulnerable body to disease. Even a flu can be fatal. >___> hope it wasn't too scientific

HIV and AIDS are different. If someone has full blown AIDS, chances are slimmer of a long life, as this virus mutates EXTREMELY RAPIDLY, which is why it is so hard to treat. It is however, a varied timeframe for each individual.
