You have to see a dietitian and doc should have sent you it is not as easy as no more sugar because most food breaks down into sugar. If more doctors would use referrals diabetes would not be so devastating. See the dietitian it will help you 100% she will teach you what food is good what is bad and how to avoid hypoglycemia so you will not feel like you have the flu.

You have Hypoglycemia and he says no more sugars. If it is true he said hypoglycemia (low blood sugars) and not hyperglycemia (high blood sugars) the reason he says no more sugar is this. When your body drops to a low in your blood sugar, you replace the lacking sugar in your blood with sugar... however, sugar spikes, it rises your blood sugar then quickly drops back down to low sugar again. What he should have told you is to eat carbs, (EX. crackers and peanut butter, which I was told in nursing school is the best when you are low,) because the carbs go into the blood sugar and have a longer effect on rising your blood sugar... they bring it up and keep it level MUCH longer than normal sugar.
Hope this helps you, and please, do some research on hypoglycemia, it is the most dangerous form of diabetes you can have. Good luck!

Hypoglycemia (Greek. hypo- below; glykys-sweet; haima- blood) Decreased blood sugar, attended by anxiety, excitement, perspiration, delirium or coma (insulin). Hypoglycemia can be produced intentionally (insulin treatment) in Schizophrenia.
But your doctor said "no more sugar". This means you have got Hyperglycemia (Diabetes). Hypergycemia (Greek. Hyper-above; glykys-sweet; haima-blood) Excessive sugar in the blood.

Alot of things are sugar free....you need to reduce the sugar dramatically but not eliminate it totally.
There is a diff in added sugar and natural sugar. Look up Diabetic Recipes and stuff like that.
Using things like NO SUGAR ADDED applesauce in cake mixes instead of sugar and stuff like that makes a HUGE difference..
My dad has Diabetes....you will adjust in time

Sit down with a dietician. There is a lot of information to learn and it can be very overwhelming, talk to a pro not just yahoo answers. Good Luck to you. You will get used to what you can and can't eat.

Don't listen to people here on Yahoo Answers!
Ask you doctor. Listen to your doctor. He has done the exam on you. He (or she) knows best.
