It can still take a couple of weeks to get over even if you don't smoke anymore. if you haven't been to the doctors go there is a combination of stuff they can give you. The only other thing I do is take vitamin C have lots of Vegemite or vitamin B eat soup and rest its a pain but when you have it there is nothing to do but wait, sorry. Get better soon.

I once suffered from Chronic Bronchitis. I would suffer sometimes 3 to 4 times per year! Usually when there was a major change in the pressure outside (I live in the north, and the temperature spikes and dips do wonders to chronic sufferers of bronchitis!). Each time I would get horrible hacking coughs, hoarking up green phlegm..it was so frustrating!

The key to getting rid of your bronchitis is to find a way to completely eliminate the germs that are causing all the phlegm and irritation leading to your hoarking cough and heavy breathing. Keep reading to learn how to do kill these germs!!

This page it will change your life and make you feel 100% better within just 24 hours!

I used to get bronchitis a lot before I moved to Colorado...It would usually take about 6 weeks before I would be completely well. You should only be sick feeling for a few days to a week, but you will probably cough and hack up crap for a really long time afterwards. Get well soon.

I've had bronchitis multiple times- and it's no fun. You're looking at a week to 2 weeks. Keep in mind too that I was never a smoker in the first place- But I think you've had time to repair the damage caused by the cigarettes you used to smoke.

If you have seen your doctor and are on antibiotics you should be feeling better by now. Finish your meds. I hate the things, but they do their job and this is one time when antibiotics make sense.
Because you used to smoke, it may take longer to get over the bronchitis. Be patient.

If you haven't seen your doctor, see your doctor.

You do NOT want bronchitis to become pneumonia.

And don't forget the fluids and rest. ; )
Get better.

Well this answer stinks but you will have it or pneumonia until you go to a doctor. I let mine go and started having chest pains so went then and by then lungs were really bad had to do inhaler, nebulizer antibiotics etc... Smoking lungs take a while to heal and may never fully recover. Dust and dirt and irritant like chemicals can help you get bronchitis. Please go to clinic er 7 or doc asap.

My mother recently had bronchitis. It took her a full 3 weeks before she felt human again. I've had bronchitis before, too, and it took me a couple weeks to get right again.

I wish you the best!
