In the book Winn-Dixie is a mutt, but in the movie he's a total of 5 dogs.The dogs are Picardy shepherds.

In the book, he was a mutt. I don't know what they used in the movie, as it appeared to relate little to the great book.

my friend has the same type of dog. and, believe it or not, that's the actual name for it. you know it's a mutt if it has mop-like blond fur, that's how i think of it.

In the book on the front cover it was a Scottish Deerhound, movie it was a mixed breed.
