who lives in the Great Lakes area, do you like instant Ramen?

Back when I used to live in Michigan, I tried various different brands, because I could not find a store that carried Maruchan Ramen.
I noticed that The Kroger (store brand) was the cheapest, sometimes you could get three packages for a penny. Until I actually tried it, it was totally VILE ! ! !
The soup base was really bland, even if you used five packets to make one package of ramen, it was still really really bad. The noodles were especially awful, way too spongy and always tasted over cooked, if it had any flavor at all.

Does anyone else think that particular Kroger product should be discontinued?

I even tried giving it to a stray dog that looked starved, it sniffed it and just peeed on it then walked away.

That was my worst culinary memory of living in Michigan.

LMAO! I know how you feel. It sucks when you cant get the ramen that you want. When I was in Mexico they had this flavor "Camarones con chile piquin" and it was a Maruchan instant lunch. I looked it up online and someone said it is called Cajun Shrimp here in the US. I still cant find it! It makes me sad, because it is sooo good. I buy a case of it when I visit Mexico. Funny that it is imported from the US to Mexico, yet It is nowhere to be found here. Try to find Top Ramen, It is cheap and almost as good as Maruchan. If you could find "Cajun Shrimp" flavor, in Michigan, I would be willing to send you some of yours for some of mine!

Maybe I'm too old because these noodle are NASTY, NASTY , NASTY. But my kids and grrandkids love them. They only cook them until they separate and then they sit for a bit and serve. Sometimes they don't use the base and put other stuff in them. They get them cold and use ranch or Zesty Italian. Walmart in Michigan sells Maruchan.
