My husband and I are invited for dinner to his aunt's place tomorrow evening. She will be making chicken lasagne. I asked what I should bring and she said perhaps a starter or dessert. Any ideas? I would like to prepare something myself rather than buying from a shop.

SALAD OR GARLIC BREAD

I would suggest a three-bean salad! or a two pasta salad using Italian dressing.
Garlic Bread made with a lite sprinkle of fine ground oregano.

For dessert I have always served a Lime Sherbert topped with slices of strawberries around the rim and a cherry on the top.

I would bring a tossed salad with baby spinach and romaine lettuce, lots of cherry tomatoes and some croutons with a light Italian dressing and black olives.
I would also bring an angel food cake with strawberries separate that could be put on top if wanted.
Good luck!

Breadsticks. Chocolate pudding over one layer of graham crackers in a square pyrex bakeware dish 1 inch deep.

Maybe a nice green lettuce salad or garlic bread.
Or cut up fresh fruit.

If you're having lasagna, I'd go with an Italian dessert...tiramisu or cannoli, maybe?
