Symptoms of hypoglycemia can be divided into:
1) Adrenergic Manifestations:
Shakiness, anxiety, nervousness, tremor, Palpitations, tachycardias, sweating, pallor, cold clammy peripheries, dilated pupils
2) Gastrointestinal: nausea, vomitting
3) Neurologic Manifestations: altered mental status, impaired judgment, nonspecific dysphoria, irritability, fatigue, weakness, apathy, lethargy, daydreaming, sleep, confusion, dizziness, staring, "glassy" look, blurred vision, double vision
4) Automatism: difficulty speaking, slurred speech, ataxia, incoordination. Focal or general motor deficit, paralysis, hemiparesis. Paresthesias, headache
Perhaps the most important and life-threatening outcome of hypoglycemia is hypoglycemic shock where you enter into a coma state, and your mental status rapidly drops from that of confusion to delirium to a coma and unconciousness. this must be rapidly addressed, and in the ER, IV glucose will be given, after which normal salline will be flushed in the vein to prevent thrombophlebitis.
Hope this helps. :D

There is a long list of symptoms of hypoglycemia listed in different literatures. However I will give the most practical and commonly observed symptoms especially on its very early stage. You will feel weakness and look at your fingers as you will notice some shaking if you will elevate them. Confusion maybe noted (infact it is the earliest sign of hypoglycemia). There will be too much sweating and if you will touch your skin it feels cold. Some blurring of vision and dizziness if your sugar has gone down in more extent. If you experience any of this immediately drink any sweetened juice or eat a piece a candy (it should always be readily available to you).
All the symptoms which are longlisted takes place if blood sugar has gone extremely low. You will not know how it happens to yourself as you might have fainted once hypoglycemia has gone too low.
So the best thing for you to do is to adhere on the diet prescribed for you, follow all your doctor's advise, and very important is for you to be familiar and recognize with the very early symptoms then you must know what you have to do. Always keep pieces of candy in your pocket or handbag. Take care !

Usually, you feel a little weak. Then you start to shake. Later you may feel hot or even sweat. You also get hungry regardless of when you last ate. If you are really low, you will get dizzy. you can stop this with fast- acting carbs (sugar). Apple juise works best but you can find almost anything loaded with sugar. I also have diabetes. Lowest blood glucose-26
