I love the shell the Walmart Flautas come in. It's a crispy...something. (I used to go to this Mexican restaurant in Sacramento. They served baskets of corn tortilla chips and this other chip..flour tortilla? They were whiter, greasier and ohmygosh, I picked out and devoured every one!) Any ideas on how to make my own chips like the shells?

i think you're talking about flour tortilla, you make the chips the same way, just fry em... and they're airy, and crispy, they melt in your mouth

Flautas -

Heat up several tablespoons of oil on medium-high; roll up filling in a flour tortilla and drop the whole thing in the oil; leave it there until it's a little browned, turning it once to brown the other side. Do as many in a batch as you wish. The hotter the oil, the crispier the flauta. Enjoy!

vegetable oil on stove at med high

cut CORN tortillas into quarters or sixths or eights (depending on how small you want them

fry the tortilla to your liking. experiment with the time cuz i don't know exactly, but about 2 minutes

put the chips on a basket/container lined with brown paper (like a brown paper bag from the grocery store)

Use a mix of salt and meat seasoning (weird but true) and season to taste
