No you can't. Ask a doctor who'll give you a better response and reasons why.

YES MAYBE!!!!!! It depends on the person and the treatment. The rules have changed and people disqualified in the past can now donate. Some medications can disqualify you so the best way to find out right a way is to call 1-800-GIVE-LIFE That is the toll free number for American Red Cross. So, if you call today and you can donate I am sponsoring a blood drive next Thursday where I work. I'd LOVE to have you come. I work in a hospital and we are short of blood of ALL types!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hope to see you there! Thank you and bless you!

Yes, you can.
It is not an infective condition and generally the contraindications are infective conditions. Even if the blood sugar levels are raised, the volume of blood being taken i.e. around 300 ml when transfused into a recipient get diluted so as to cause no significant change in the recepient's blood sugar levels.

The Red Cross doesn't accept donations from known diabetics.

i have type 2 and i give blood, and if you are unsure all you have to do is ask the person taking your blood, im sure they can tell you if it is safe. it may depend on the type of meds you are on also.. but you may want to make sure you are in control on the day you give. make sure you eat before you give so that you dont go low

Yes. I called our Community Blood Center and they said as long as your sugars are controlled it was ok. I told them I was type 2 and on glucophage and they said it was alright. Call the blood center where you live, maybe there is different criteria there.
