Hi,
Alcohol has a vasodialtion effect. (causes your veins and arteries to become larger) that is why you feel warmer when you drink because more blood is getting to the skin surface.
So Basically if you have more room for the blood there will be less pressure.
How ever this is NOT a recommended anti-hypertensive treatment.

Drinking too much alcohol can raise your blood pressure or even help lead to the development of high blood pressure. To to help prevent high blood pressure, if you drink alcohol, limit how much you drink to no more than 2 drinks a day. The "Dietary Guidelines for Americans" recommend that for overall health, women should limit their alcohol to no more than 1 drink a day.Reports suggest that people who consume a drink or two a day have lower blood pressure and live longer than those who consume no alcohol or those who consume excessive amounts of alcohol.
So blood pressure might decrease , but when you drink again it increases more.

The alcohol constricts the blood vessels causing the blood pressure to slow down. There is no known explanation for understanding why this happens. Studies are still being conducted. I know that when I drink a glass of wine at the end of a hard day I feel so much calmer and relaxed. Too much of course will kill you or destroy your liver.

Alcohol affects the heart primarily by increasing cardiac irritability and leading to arrhthmias of a benign kind. I know of no persistent effect on blood pressure except to lower it if the patient is dehydrated.

im just going out on a limb and guessing, but i think alcohol decreases your blood pressure while you are drinking because it is a diuretic and sucks water out of you, thats why you pee so much

Little alcohol is ok but excess of it is bad in some people's blood syetem...as it increases the pb. but not in everybody anyway. One of the functions of the liver is to burn down all the alcohol found in my sytem to zero. i have no problem with bp or whatever.

I think it depends on the alcohol. I mean, I think wine increases the pressure, but, like, vodka, tends to decrease it... I may be wrong in the latter case.
