Up north I recommend Silky Oaks Lodge. These are gorgeous treehouses set in the rainforest. You'll love it - no children permitted so is very romantic. Green Island is nice but very small. For complete luxury try Bedarra or Lizard. Palm Cove is my favourite. It is such a cute little beach village. You can't go past the new Sea Temple Resort. You won't be disappointed I promise.
And finally for the most captivating resort in the world - in Ayers Rock stay at Longitude 131. It is expensive but EVERYTHING is included from meals and drinks to all your tours. You don't have to wait for scheduled sightseeing. If you want to go and see something, they'll drive you there. This is luxury tent accommodation. Each one stands alone for complete privacy. In the morning you can lie in bed and they will come and wake you for the sunrise. You just press a button beside your bed and the blinds come up. So you sit and watch the sunrise over Ayers Rock from your bed. How good is that! As a travel agent I have sent many people to this resort and they have all said it is the most beautiful place they have been to in the world. Have fun!!

i live in Cairns...for your honeymoon may I suggest The Daintree Eco Lodge...it is the most beautiful place that you will ever go...and I can pretty much guarantee that!

Enter...tropical far north queensland in a search...there are way to many sites to mention but if you enter that you will get plenty of things to look at.

May I suggest Fitzroy Island rather than Green Island...Fitzory has an amazing beach named "Nudey Beach"...yes, it is a legal nude beach, but dont let that put you off...its just beautiful and you dont have to get your gear off. Green Island was nice about 15 years ago...but too many tourists have spoilt it.

I am so glad to see that you are checking out the Red Centre...be sure that you hang around Ayres Rock for sunset. The rock changes color before your eyes...

Have a great time in Australia...

sorry that I didnt understand your question...but as far as romantic places to go I would suggest...a dinner cruise with Ocean Spirit...they are just fantastic.
