Diabetics are advized to take in more fiber. Will supplemental fiber, the kind in powder form like Metamucil, help? Or does it have to come in the form of vegetables, grains, etc?

Yes, supplemental fiber can help, though it isn't a good idea to use that as your only/main source of fiber. Cereals, whole grain breads, fruits, etc. give you the nutrition that you need as well as the fiber. In working to keep hypoglycemia from turning into diabetes, I've found that fruits and veggies aren't so bad when I don't give myself other choices. :-)

Of course fiber from veggies is nice but hard to get enough. I am diabetic and I use the one can't think of the name but it is flavorless and you can put it in foods. I can't stand Metamucill

Fiber suppliments would be fine, but dark green leafy vegetable have more than just fiber that is healthy. Dark green and leafy is the most noted fiber-filled foods.
