If God wanted us to be vegetarians,
He wouldn't have made animals out of meat.

sure you could...
i must be the world's only actual human carnivore, as i love the taste of raw red beef. i love digging into any kind of a bone and i could eat meat 3 times a day, every day, and never get tired of it. however, for 4 years, i was a vegetarian. it wasn't hard at all. i had no problems.
however, at the end of those 4 years, i realized something. i don't object to killing for food. all things in the world that are alive eat things that are dead. it's how it works. even lettuce can't survive without the nutrients that came from dead things that decayed in the ground. what i object to, is killing without a good survival reason (and making money does not qualify as a survival reason to me, no matter how many people make their living trapping for fur). so i went back to eating meat and started picking my batles more in accordance to my new attitude.

We can be vegetarians because we CAN live without meat. For some of us it comes really easy and for some, it's a struggle between what tastes good and what their conscience asks of them. You could be, too and that would be great. But since you choose not to, that's OK, too.

Ideals and beliefs over yumminessnessness.

You're right, meat does taste too good. I used to feel bad whenever I eat meat, but then I realized it's the food chain and that meat is too damn yummy.

I really don't like meat. I am not a vegetarian though. I eat meat at least once a week (usually chicken). I understand their way of thinking though.

Because we want to be vegetarians. The same way some people don't drink alcohol; some of us just don't eat meat.

I am not one but there are many ways to get plenty of protein without eating meat. And it is less fattening as well. Some people are veggies for appearance only those silly veg heads.

I used to think that too. And then I visited www.goveg.com and learned about the environmental, world-hunger, etc. problems that eating meat caused. And then I had such a good reason to not eat meat, that I just didn't want to eat it anymore.

It's something that veg-heads (I'm a proud veg-head!) do for many different reasons:
political (animal rights)
the expense of meat
the convienence of eating any food in your diet raw (except potatoes)
they just don't like meat
I, myself, refer to myself as a vegetarian, but I am not truly one, since I don't do it for political reasons; I just don't like the way meat feels in my mouth. It's an aquired way of life, and I have adapted to it well. Vegheads can be vegheads since they don't need the meat to survive (neither do you)

I could not live with the thought of a pig, freshly slaughtered with its head severed- still twitching. Warm blood and entrails. I could not live without air and water- most everything else is up for grabs.
