How Are They Treated?
There is no cure that will get rid of the HPV virus completely. But there are treatments that can reduce the number of warts — or help them go away faster. When the warts disappear, the HPV virus is still there, though it may not spread as easily. If you are having sex, think you may have genital warts, or if you have had a partner who may have genital warts, you need to see your doctor or gynecologist. If the warts are not obviously visible, doctors can detect the presence of HPV in girls through a Pap smear (a test that is performed during a gynecologic exam). Doctors can examine a guy to see if he has warts.

Your doctor will do an examination, make a diagnosis, and then provide treatment, if necessary. There are a number of different treatments. Depending on where the warts are located, how big they are, and how many there are, your doctor can treat them in several ways. Some genital warts can be treated by putting special medications on them. If warts are large, the doctor may carefully "freeze" them off by using a chemical or laser treatment to remove them.

Because HPV lives in the skin, warts can come back. So you may need to visit the doctor again. Anyone with whom you've had sex also should be checked for genital warts.

Not all bumps on a person's genitals are warts. Some can be pimples, some can be other types of infections or growths. An exam by a doctor can help determine what a bump is.

Almost everyone who gets a genital wart gets upset, and it's normal to be worried. Talk to your doctor or nurse about what it means to have HPV and what you can do.

I think you are talking about genital warts which is caused by HPV. There is no cure for the virus, but the warts are treatable.

You can have them frozen off, lasered off, or use topical medication (ointment) to get rid of them. I had genital warts about 7 months ago and I used a cream called Aldara. It works great! I kind of saw the freezing and laser as a last resort if the cream didn't work. Ask your doctor for a prescription for Aldara cream. It can take weeks to start noticing the warts disappear, so be patient. It's well worth it though!

Hi. It's a sad truth but HPV does not leave your body, but the virus can be supressed enough so you don't have outbreaks. If you keep your immune system strong your outbreaks will be few and far between. Having a wart/s removed by laser, surgery or freezing should be a last resort and if they can only be removed in this way. I have used Aldara Cream (Imiquimod) and it works great! Tea Tree oil also works well. Eat healthy and stress less! Good luck!

The only treatments I know of are special creams that your dr. has to prescribe to you. Freezing, burning off, or a laser removal. I think I would personally go for something that's less painful like the creams, but if the wart(s) are to much for the cream to handle then there's no other choice then to go through with the other projedures. It's hard, and it's scarry but the ony thing you can do is hope for the best.

I did a quick web search and there is an organic herbal "cure" called Warts No More by a company called Force of Nature. I don't know how well it will work. Your best bet is to see a doctor. If left too long hpv can lead to cervical cancer.

i agree with all my_opinion_two says.

The warts do not have any feeling in them, so freezing or burning them will not hurt at all. The only time you will feel anything is if they freeze or burn the area around the warts.

nope sorry kid! honestly you wont feel the freezing because you will be asleep. you might be a little sore but a little tylenol or motrin will fix that. most of the time its a outpatient procedure so you would be in and out in one day. hope i helped :)
